Our Team
Communities Against Factory Farming (CAFF) is a coalition of local residents, farmers, lawyers, environmentalists, politicians, councillors and activists. We support and empower communities to challenge factory farm planning applications and campaign for national legislation change.
Current team members
Maya Pardo
Co-Founder, Campaign Lead and Legal Strategy Coordinator
Maya co-founded CAFF in April 2025 and leads its campaigns and legal strategy.
A King's College London law graduate, she uses planning law to hold agribusinesses accountable for the environmental, public health, and animal welfare impacts of factory farming, supporting residents through planning challenges and building a movement towards a fairer, plant-rich food system.
Jo Lazarus
Campaign Coordinator
Jo uses her project management background to keep campaigns running smoothly and support the team and volunteers behind the scenes.
She cares deeply about the harm factory farming causes to animals, the environment, and human health, and believes in the power of communities working together to push back against it and towards a more compassionate food system.
Daniel Clark
Comms and Press Lead A communications generalist with experience across journalism, PR, marketing and academia, Daniel leads CAFF’s press and comms department.
He grew up in Lincolnshire, witnessing the harms of intensive animal agriculture, and now works to stop the spread of factory farming and misinformation about food systems.
Jane Lovering
Campaign Researcher
Having originally abandoned a law degree to become a teacher, Jane spent her career encouraging others to care about animals and our impact on the planet. Now retired, she puts that legal knowledge to use as an invaluable part of the CAFF team, conducting voluntary research on planning and permit applications and drafting objection responses. Jane is passionate about supporting local communities to challenge factory farming and drive a shift towards a more sustainable, plant-based food system.

Bini Pitwell
Co-Founder and Social Media Lead
Bini co-founded CAFF after living in Lincolnshire, the UK county with the highest number of factory farms, and witnessing firsthand the damage factory farming does to animals, rivers, and local communities.
As CAFF's Social Media Lead, she grew CAFF's reach and empowered people to take action, building a collective movement to protect animals, nature, and people from factory farming.
Dan Angrignon
Community Engagement Lead
A lifelong advocate for animals and the environment, Dan graduated from Brock University with a multidisciplinary degree that examined the ethical, environmental, and health-related impacts of industrial animal exploitation. As CAFF’s Community Engagement Lead, Dan brought their academic expertise and years of experience with grassroots organising to empower and support communities to oppose unsustainable and unjust practices, and drive systemic change.
